Re: Background size
The background image is automatically upscaled to be the side it needs to fit. however if you're looking to modify the proportions of it you'll need to do it in photoshop first. I do this at times. I'll add 2-3" of white on the bottom to make it a different proportion. Of course the white is no...

I hope that you're not all answering as "support" - or else I've had some really strange conversations!

That's great news!

Lighting and IES Files
Just curious, Has there been any thoughts about incorporating IES lighting files into the rendering package and being able to apply that lighting info for rendering? Specifically the light fall off, and patterns. Ex: http://www.lithonia.com/photometrics.aspx Ex: http://www.indigorenderer.com/documen...

Re: Parallel Rendering Projection
Yeah. Facing the same problem with my project too. It is getting converted to a perspective rendering automatically. I think there is no way to keep the parallel projected camera till date. Please implement this feature soon. Thanks in advance. Sketchup does not provide a mean to extract this infor...

I've had some really good renders with normal maps.
There is a free plugin for photoshop so you can make them yourself too if you need to.

Re: Missing PNG Transparent Texture
I'm using 3.0. I sorted out my problem. User error. This is an old project that we're finally starting work on the last building in. Since the texture i linked was in the model, i presumed that's what i used on that area. Once you got it to work, i went and dug deeper. Embarrassed to say, i had used...

Missing PNG Transparent Texture
Hey, got a PNG texture for a wire mesh i'm using. but it's not rendering and i'm not sure why. There are no special raylectron settings applied, and it has no transparency set on it. Not sure why it wont render. Any ideas?

Re: Question on slope grass
A few things: with 16gb of ram, you need to be running a version of windows that is 64bit. If you are running a version of windows that is 64 bit you need to BE SURE you are using the 64 bit version of raylectron. otherwise, all the memory is limited to 4gb. to find out what version of windows you a...

Re: Question on slope grass
Hey, thought id post this as it seemed somewhat relevant :) still a work in progress of course. Did this using the methods described earlier using an image for grass. It really ate my machine up having it displayed. It was very CPU hungry. Since sketchup is still a single-core single-process 32 bit ...

CGtextres now has a yearly membership fee, and they moved the HDRI stuff off to a new site.
but I've never bought anything from them anyway. I use free textures.

You can look here too.. (i love sharing this link as it's so good) http://www.cgtextures.com/ Nature -> Grass -> anyting labeled "Set tile" should work. free materials are smaller in size, large maps require a premium membership. they do not include normal maps... But i've learned how to c...

Re: Best way to illuminuate under a porch (the ceiling)
The interior walls are there (just white at the moment). they are washed out though because I've pumped up the exposure gama, and other settings. might try doing it in Photoshop with the HDRI image instead. I get different results. We don't plan on rendering it at night, but we wanted to illuminate ...
