Re: Interior Rendering
Thanks for elaborating on that. I'll try it with the model I already have to see what happens when I use the smooth few times.

Re: Question on slope grass
Thanks Michael,
Yes, I would appreciate it again if you remind me of what needs to be done with that utility and where to get it. I seem to remember that you posted it for me at one time. Also do I run it after installing the latest version you sent to my PM?

Re: Interior Rendering
Hi Michael, Thanks very much for the model. Regarding the big light fixture over the table, what did you mean by re-smoothing it. Did you explode it and assigned the default material to everything, then regrouped it and used the smooth edges tool and assigned the light material to the group? I have ...

Re: Question on slope grass
I was just going to ask you to do that. I installed the 32 bit and it asks me for the registration number. When inserted the dialog box doesn't go away. SO Please Call. If you can do it as soon as possible it would be even better.

Re: Question on slope grass
Michael, Practically all my major softwares installed are 64bit. I can only think of Sketchup being my 32bit software. Again, none of those other apps like bittorrent and other thing have any effect on the other softwares. The full install in my PM gave me more trouble as I mentioned in the previous...

Re: Question on slope grass
Hi Michael, Thanks for the PM attachment. I unzipped it and placed it in the Raylectron folder and it asked me if I want to replace the existing one and I confirmed it. I hope I did it right. After all that was done, I double clicked on an rof file on my desktop and I got an "Access violation&q...

Re: Question on slope grass
Thanks Michael. I downloaded a seamless wood texture and created its normal map using the Nvidia Normal map creator and assigned the material and its normal map to the floor with shininess of 5(in the new material editor dialog box and I guess 5 would mean 0.5 in the previous dialog box or am i wron...

Re: Question on slope grass
Thanks Michael. I meant 70% not 705. I think I did a type-o. Alright I'll try and yes I do need a nice normal map for each texture, but usually most textures online don't come with their normal maps and one has to create it with Photoshop for instance and it might not come out to be an accurate one....

Re: Question on slope grass
Hi Michael, Thank you so much for explaining the whole thing. I knew that one way to achieve that look would be to model the whole thing and apply the textures and so on, but I was thinking of creating the same look using the hardwood floor texture with its bump map and its normal map. Of course it ...

Re: Question on slope grass
Now we know for sure that one of your installed program has replaced a system DLL for an older one, that's why it works in 32bit and not in 64bit. Michael, I don't know anything about programming or DLLs, however if that is the case how is it that I don't have any problem with my other programs whe...

Re: Question on slope grass
Oh yes. That was a great video and now I know a bit more. Thanks so much. I'll try it on a non-flat area see how it works. I'll also try the 32 bit version and let you know soon. I AM FREE AT LAST . Great news. The 32bit version didn't give an error message and it could save the image right away. So...

Re: Question on slope grass
Hi Michael, Uninstalled the 2.66 version with all its sub folders on other hard disks. Installed the new version v3 that you posted for me, did a render for few minutes , tried to save the image and still get the same message. Here is the error message again. I'll go ahead and see how the grass-fur ...

Re: Question on slope grass
Thanks so much Michael. I had never used the watermark option in Sketchup before since I usually managed the background with the rendering software. But it was good to know after working with this thing for so long. thank you again for enlightening me if that is the right word. I was refering to my ...

Re: Question on slope grass
I am impressed. Quite a nice looking grass effect. Still waiting for your new and improved grass tutorial video with different shades exactly the way you have it now in this image. So: 1) what exactly is a watermark in Raylectron ? 2) Is it a scene behind the mode l? 3)And when do you usually use it...

Re: Question on slope grass
Slowly but surely. Thanks Michael for clearing that up. Is this a background image with trees or an Environment map? Also is the light coming in, from Sketchup or the Environment map?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: Question on slope grass
Now I see why I was getting the grainy look in the window. I'll correct both of them and try again. What settings did you use for this rendering? Is is the same you suggested yesterday? This material assignment issue is a bit cumbersome. For instance it is a good idea to assign the white material to...

Hi Michael,
I had the glass as you described. 2 layers and color was white with 100% transparency. We'll try it again.
Thanks much,

Re: Question on slope grass
Thanks Michael. I tried what you suggested and the reflection still looks weird. The overall atmosphere got a bit brighter. I'll have to do few more tests. This one took almost 2 hours for the render.

Re: Question on slope grass
Hi Michael. And yes please, I would like to see the model. I noticed that the v3 you posted for me was only about 6 MB in size whereas the previous versions were 22 Mb or so. Would this v3 version be an upgrade to the previous one or is the v3 version only 6Mb in size? Also I am still confused if I ...

Re: Interior Rendering
Yes sir. I learned my lesson the hard way. The first couple of times i kept seeing the edges and the side faces of the hole. So I grouped the side faces with the actual window and grouped the frona nd back face of the hole as a separte group so I can hide and unhide either of them as i need. I even ...

Re: Question on slope grass
I am glad my constant persistence brings great results. Did you just make the grass material darker to make it more real or how did you do that? Really nice.

Re: Interior Rendering
Now I see what needs to be done in cases like these. So what I understand is I should first hid the window, then fill in the window area using push/pull(I can even group the push/pull area at this time) and do the rendering, then hide the push/pull area and unhide the window again.
Thanks Michael,
Thanks Michael,

Thanks Michael, I haven't checked yet. I'll try it after getting your advice on wether I should uninstall the 64bit version first prior to installing the 32bit version.
