Re: CPU VS GPU

They should remain hidden unless some other scenes unhide them, in which case, they will not be hidden in Raylectron as it does not hide/unhide objects in scenes. What you can do is create a new Layer in Sketchup and move the object to be hidden in that layer then disable the layer.

Re: CPU VS GPU

The extension is installed within Sketchup, the installer installs it in the same place except you can use the shortcut to it to open already saved .rof files or any .obj files. It also lets you totally uninstall it. As for functionality, they are both identical.

Re: CPU VS GPU

it's ok. you have the same CPU as I do except mine is not OC and I get much faster results with the CPU. The GPU is faster for small outdoor models or small models with only one or two lights, but it depend on the complexity of the model too and how much reflection materials have. The CPU version ha...

Re: CPU VS GPU

They are both going to produce photo realistic results but the GPU is mainly used fro very small models, like prototypes of parts like a watch etc. the CPU can handle very large models and because of its grain free capabilities, it will outperform the its GPU counterpart. But that is, if you have a ...

Re: AMD wx4100

Hi,

Hold down the Ctrl key and double click on the Raylectron shortcut to run it, not from Sketchup, it will re-initialize the GPU.

Raylectron prefer NVidia over AMD but it should still work, with 1024 cores, it'll still be slow however. Have you tried the CPU version see if you get faster results?

Re: New Computer

You are correct, not only the price plays the game.

This system is very good for rendering using the CPU version of Raylectron, not the video card however, 1280 cores for rendering is minimal, your cpu will perform much better, it's super excellent for gamming however.

Re: New Computer

oh absolutely, 6 cores (12 threads) and DDR4, it's going to render pretty fast but I would go 16GB of RAM as oppose to 8GB because your OS and background system apps will use a bunch.

Can you hold down the Ctrl key while double clicking on the icon to start Raylectron (not in Sketchup) and a popup window will come up, can you screen shot it and send it to me?

Re: Sorry but V5? Just curious

It's progressing, no beta release just yet but first quarter of 2019 is the ETA. It is not a step up in a way since it is build from scratch, hence the long time to develop it.

Set the front and back face to the same material, the material should be 100% transparent and the IOR set to Water.

simply run the .brp file as oppose to the BrownRecluse.exe, the same way you'd run a .txt file which open the Notepad. for a command propmpt or a batch file, do not include the word CALL , simply use "BrownRecluse.exe test.brp" or "test.brp" alone. At the beginning of your script...

Re: Opening up a SU scene Raylectron

are you using v4.99? perhaps you have a custom camera setting? section planes even if they are off? If you could PM me your SKP file I could find out what the problem is.

v5 is still In the works and now with Sketchup 2019 coming up, it slows everything down.

no but both are activated as they are separate. If you would like to use both and you want the GPU to be the default, install the CPU version first (the full installer) and then go to the installed folder and rename Raylectron.exe to RaylectronCPU.exe and create a shortcut to it on your desktop. Re: Help after buying the license

The activation unlocks the demo version so you do not need to install another version. If you can render in any resolution your like and you do not get a Raylectron.com banner at the bottom, then you have them activated successfully.
