download path

BlackWidow scans websites (it's a site ripper). It can download an entire website, or download portions of a site.

download path

Post by shark61 »

I am downloading the contents of a website. Black Widow makes a folder with the name of the website. It then creates a subfolder called members. When I open the index.html file stored there it has links to folders on my hard drive that start with member not starting with the website folder that Black Widow created. How do I get Black Widow to use the correct file paths with the server name it created?

Thanks for your assistance.

BlackWidow does not modify the downloaded files nor does it modify the links within pages. However, if you download BlackWidow v5, there is an option to convert links from already downloaded files. In this case, give it the folder name. We dropped this feature in v6 because web sites now uses javascript extensively to generate links, and many other ways, such pages no longer work for offline browsing.

Nevermind. I found it.

I am guessing that is the path they used on the server, but assume a certain drive. My browser assumes the drive is the one the page is found on.

Anything after the domain name is the path the server has. Anything below is of your choosing, except the domain name, BW includes it so you can download multiple sites into a single folder.
