NameWiz Sort

With NameWiz, you can rename files en-masse in either a single folder or all sub folders. Change the file extension, make all names lower/upper case, replace, remove, insert, delete, move or swap characters, add prefixes and suffixes, or replace the names altogether with sequential names of your choosing.

NameWiz Sort

Post by Grovat »

To insert a chronological ascending number to the filename ( .jpg) with the name generator, the files should be sorted by date and time of their creation.
How can I sort the files in name wiz by creation-date/time bevor starting the name generator?

You first need to sort the list of files by clicking on the Date header column.

Yes, then the files are sorted by Filename. And what have I to do after, because the files from different cameras are not yet sorted by date and time?

Scroll the list of files horizontally and then click on the "Modified" header column to sort the list by date instead of by file name.

When some files have been modified at different days, the date "modified" is not equal to the creation date.
The windows explorer shows both dates. For a chronological sort the creation date is necessary. Is NameWiz able to show it and to sort the files in its sequence?

It only shows the Modified date, we'll have to add the Creation date as well.
