Help after buying the license

Post by jdaite »

So I just bought the licence because I wanted to also use GPU acceleration instead of just CPU or just GPU rendering. After I activated it, I do not see any indication that any thing change for either CPU only or GPU only installs. IS there a separate installation I should get?

Thanks!

The activation unlocks the demo version so you do not need to install another version. If you can render in any resolution your like and you do not get a Raylectron.com banner at the bottom, then you have them activated successfully.

So once it is activated, it automatically uses both CPU and GPU acceleration?

no but both are activated as they are separate. If you would like to use both and you want the GPU to be the default, install the CPU version first (the full installer) and then go to the installed folder and rename Raylectron.exe to RaylectronCPU.exe and create a shortcut to it on your desktop. Then install the GPU version (the full installer) and this time, only create a shortcut to Raylectron.exe and you can rename the shortcut to RaylectronGPU so you know which is which. Sketchup will automatically use the GPU since the GPU was the last one installed, so if you prefer to use the CPU, after Sketchup export your model and Raylectron loads, cancel the load, run the CPU version and load the rof file Sketchup created in the folder you selected when exporting the model.
