Hi Michael,
Just received your email on the new v3 version with the links. Are these the same build as the one you sent to my PM or are these newer builds? I am in the process of doing bunch of work not to mention my taxes. Hopefully be next week i should have enough time to get into it. Also do we need a new license number for v3 or we can use the current one?
Thanks again,

It's the latest build Nick, so you should use that one instead of the one in your PM.

Yes, the code stays the same, no need to register it, it will know.

Hi Michael,
when will the version 3 be ready for public release, i really need to have a feel on the new grass function and new the material editor. Raylectron is definitely going to be a most have plugin with the new grass feature for sketchup in the nearer future or probably now. Saw the video you made for nick and its breath taking and mind blowing .....Michael please i hope to test it very soon and also hoping the implementation of the auto save functions. The v2.65 is good and very stable hope to see greater stability in v3

Hi,

I sent you a PM with the links to v3. We are a few day of making it public as all our users have sent us feedback and found no problems at all. It seems to be very stable.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the pm, love the new looks with the material editor in SU, but, i am having a
difficult time working with it. Have not been able to post all the while because i wanted to be
sure of what the problem might be. I keep getting the access violation message each time i
clicked the render button in SU and after i clicked ok, raylectron exits. I use 32 bit windows 7
and after reinstalling the v3, same message pop up, I exited SU and lunched the .rof file
directly and it gave the same warning. Clicked ok and raylectron exited. I removed it and
reinstalled the other version 2.65 and it worked well as usual, I also ran it in a windows xp
machine same issue. What could be the problem, seems Am the only one having this issue

I'm not sure why you get this error, but I PM you the latest build of v3/32bit. We have fixed bugs since you last downloaded v3.

At what point do you get the error? I mean, you open Raylectron, then load a .rof file and it loads ok, then you click Render and you get that error?

I get the warning message from within SU immediately i clicked the render button and after it
saves it before loading the model, it doesn't even allow the model to load at all. Likewise
when i lunch a .rof file the same issue, in the process of loading, it pops up the warning. I
will check with the latest build of v3/32bit you pm me to see the outcome, thanks.

I just tried the new build you sent via pm and still the same issue and after which raylectron crashes. Guess the best option for now is to stick with v2.65

I suggest you try it on a 32bit OS to see if its ok

We always test them before. I re-tested it on a 32bit WinXP and Vista and it worked on both!

What do you do exactly. You run Raylectron, (but you do not close the message box) and open an ROF file, then it crash?

Are you running it in the sandbox of your anti-virus? (this anti-virus feature is ON by default most of the time).

I just ran it on a 32bit windows 8 system without any antivirus program and the same result. could a hardware change create issues like this cause i installed a GPU before these whole issues arrived, but v2.65 still works both in my xp, win 7, win 8 32bit OSes

What's so weird is that we did not change the OpenGL code from v2.65 to v3. Have you installed the latest video card driver with the latest OpenGL driver?

Hi Michael,
I wanted to test render the grass tool before going for my real project. I created a square face as ground, deleted the inside face so what i am left with are the boundry lines. Then I used the "from Scratch" tool to set the divisions to every 5' lets say, and created a grid face. As soon as you do this, this face becomes a group. Then I edit the group and apply the smoove tool and raise up some areas of the grass field. Then I give all the faces a vegetation texture and close the group. Then I start the Raylectron render and when the model shows up it is very hard to move/par or orbit the model even though the triangles are only about 122.5k. I've had building models with more faces than that and it still runs smooth. I'll make a video if this keeps up and post it for you.
I am also waiting to see what you did regarding the issue on AutoCad in terms of Raylectron. So please let me know if you come up with a new build.
Thank Michael,
-------------

I just followed per your new grass tool video and Raylectron gave me a "out of memory" dialog box as in the picture. You mentioned that you solved the issue with David's old graphic card giving the access violation error. Is this due to my machine only having 4GB of memory? Does it have anything with my graphic card memory of only 512MB?

Just ran the grass render, loaded the model and still cannot pan, orbit the model. Very very choppy and slow. And didn't even bother rendering it since it could give me the same out of memory message.

Have you tried it with the build I sent you today? It works fine for me, here is a video of it. 4GB is plenty, but how much free RAM do you have out of 4GB?

Also, if you want to make killer terrain, get Artisan (40 bucks) here is a video of how to do a terrain in no time, as a mesh, not a bunch of squares, and painting the whole mesh nicely...

Hi Michael,

I am also begining to get the access violation message again and a out of memory warning when loading a model of just 18,000+ poly and also when loading an hdri it gives the same out of memory message. I uninstalled and reinstalled still the same issues but no problem with the 2.65. I will post a video of all the actions and end results

Thanks for the videos, very helpful. I've PM you the latest builds which should fix the problem. However, 2GB of RAM with only 1GB free is not that much, especially if you will generate grass/fur. Raylectron detect if it uses too much of it and will bailout to prevent Windows from using virtual memory (your HD) which would make your system unresponsive.
