Bouble image rendered

Hello there. This message is for Michael Smith if he is around.
I have a Sketchup model like a car dealership displaying cars inside a glass building. If you look at the SU model, you see only one SUV shown. But when I render it all the other cars render fine except this SUV which seems to be rendering twice at different angles. It cannot be the glass refection, so I don't know what it could be. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

That is because your glass isn't make and textured properly. Is it a single face or is it solid (push pulled)?

If your glass are not solid, you need to remove the IOR value for it and set the sine to 10 or so. The way it looks now I can almost guaranty that it's not solid.

Yes, most glass in this conceptual model are single faces. I created a solid white color and named it glass and had the transparency at 10%. Then selected both faces of all single glass faces and applied the glass material( so they are both glass material on front and back, just in case I wanted to get an interior render). If what you guess is the case, then why is it that other cars next to glass walls are not rendered in doubles?

I'll try removing the IOR and see what happens.

Thanks much.

Nick

Because when light enter a solid glass, it is refracted, then, when it exist the glass, it is again refracted, almost back to its original path so very little distortion occur. In your case, the glass is not solid, so when it is refracted (which depend on the angle at which it enters) and the ray isn't refracted back, what happens is, it's refracted like 45deg hit the var and goes back to the glass refracted again, another 45deg, in a solid glass, it is refracted like 45deg going in then refracted again at -45deg, in your case, it's like 90 refracted. Remove the IOR value, set the transparency to 100% and the shine to 10-20 and it'll look like real glass. Or, make your glass solid like in real life.
