Grass

Post by daleblack1961 »

I am a home builder not a photo render artist so could use some help. My grass doesn't seem as realistic as some other work I see. Any help with techniques would be greatly appreciated. If there are any other suggestions for improving my renders I would love to hear them. I just bought a new graphics card and started using V4. The speed is incredible. I would highly recommend.

Hi,

What I would suggest is to change texture for your grass. Instead of a solid green color, use a grass texture with patch and stuff, here is one I like...You may need to change the width/height of it to make it smaller or bigger to get the grass to look real. Here are some of the textures I use for grass...

Just that alone will make a huge difference. Your render looks awesome. You could make your windows black, 0* transparent and 20% shine, they will look like glass. No need to make them transparent if you do not want to see inside the house. For the background, you could use an environment map. Beside that, you did a great job with both the design and the render!

For my post above, I assumed you used the Raylectron grass generator on the surface correct?
