v4 shadow settings?

I would like to keep the material quality of the "real" shadows in v4 but I'm wondering if there is a way to modify the quality of the shadows to increase rendering speed? It looks like v3 used to have 3 different shadow options, is there something similar in v4 that I'm just missing?

Yes, you can use the Eye shadows in v4 under the Illumination tab and adjust the shadow intensity using the Brightness slider setting just below it. It default to 1.00
