Can anyone shed light on the use of static backgrounds please... I'm having major problems with it.
I can get as far as placing an object on a static image, complete with environment map in place on the object (for reflection and lighting).. but as soon as I press anything (even the slider at the bottom of the screen to reposition the image) ..it just reverts back the view of the model with the entire environment map as the background??? Anything pressed dose this... trying to adjust the texture, lighting, rotation of the environment map..all do the same thing. Restarting the render does the same...and trying to save the rendered image also????
Something tells me this isn't right....or am I missing something?
Please help.... this is driving me nuts!
As always with software.. there are video tutorials.. and as always the video shows a slightly different interface! I can't find any Raylectron tutorials that explain the static background feature.
Thanks, Chris

Re: Static Backgound
One thing to remember is that you can only use one not both. If you want to use the environment map for lighting, then do not use the static background and save the rendered image as transparency and then use a paint program to add whatever background you like.

Re: Static Backgound
I was afraid that might be the case. Why, though?..it seems to go through all the motions up to that point. Just like in Blender and Maxwell..you can use both.. it would be the icing on the cake for Raylectron. It's what I bought it for..the user-friendliness of it compared to the others. Will there ever be an update to use both?
Re: Static Backgound
I've already submitted the idea to the developers to use both. Next version (sometime next week, v4.77) will use the env map only for lighting if there is a static background.

Re: Static Backgound
Cool! ....will that include reflection? To clarify..I took a 360 pano in the woods.. made a sphere in Sketchup.. and made it chrome in Raylectron. I then used a single static image with myself in it..with the intention of having me standing next to the floating chrome sphere.. simple enough and I've done it many times before in other software. The light's one thing but the reflection is what it was really all about this time.
Re: Static Backgound
A static background doesn't have a size so it can not be reflected. In any case, they've made the changes and I'll PM you the file now...

Wow..thank you so much! I'll go to it now. I'll post a picture up if I get it to work
