Pausing midstream while saving an animation...

Post by AlbionMoon »

Greetings!

I am relatively new to Raylectron and have what is likely a noob question, though I have not been able to find any real information about it. It is a simple question really...Is it possible to pause midstream while saving an animation (to free up resources for other programs temporarily), and pick up from that paused point later to continue the rendering/saving of the animation? I am afraid that if I stop the process and then restart it, that it will start from the beginning again. My computer is old and slow (upgrading soon) and so the the time for the animation to save is very long (2 weeks to render the entire animation by my calculations...sad, I know) and I am under deadline and cannot afford to start back at the beginning, but I need to use my sad little computer to create some more models in sketchup for a separate project and need the use of my cpu and RAM:-)

Thank you in advance for your thoughts!!

Unfortunately not but, we can add a Pause button no problem. For the rendering part, you can stop and start to resume, but not for animation. However, we will add a Pause button for the animation and I'll PM you the update in a day or so. I assume you are using v4?

Yes, Version 4.7.9.0 (trial version currently...I will be purchasing the full version as soon as I upgrade to a new computer and know if either the cpu or gpu version would be most appropriate for it).

A pause capability would be amazing!! I imagine that I will have to wait until this current animation is finished (about a week left) before I would be able to install and take advantage of the update? I am totally ok with that and it makes sense that that would be the case.

Thank you for your prompt reply and consideration! You rock! I am truly loving what Raylectron offers my creative output!
