Sun Positions

Is there any way of positioning the sun easier than using the 'Sun Position' tab?

I'm finding it difficult to get the sun in a position where it can provide the correct lighting for a room?

Thanks :D

Well, beside the date or the elevation or the azimuth, I don't see how else you would position the sun. how would you like it to work?

If the rendering is not fast enough for you to visualize the sun in the room, you can set the resolution to something much smaller so it render faster, de-select the sky, keep only the sun. Once you have it right.

I also have an issue with sun positioning. It always seems that the Sun is almost always in front of the camera with the shadows coming towards the camera so the surfaces I want to light are mostly in shadow. Most of my renders are landscape and believe the sun positioning is flawed I can play with the sun positioning settings ad nauseum but never get the sun behind my shoulder (camera). Perhaps there should be a " sun behind camera" or "Flash fill" button.

The sun position is exported from Sketchup, so whatever position you have it in Sketchup, even if you have shadows off, is what it will default to. Otherwise, you can use the sun Azimuth and add or subtract 180 to it to change it from front to back. We sure can add a few buttons to position it in front/back/left/right of the camera but I think this will be in version 5.
