Instances . . . whaaa?

Post by marcotc17 »

Hey everyone!

I have a question about something strange I have seen happen when I make an instance in a SketchUp model. I create an instance - no big deal, but when the instance appears, it is not the two planes intersecting in the center of the item, rather, it is one plane several feet over from the object and the other plane several feet away in the other direction. Am I doing something wrong?

Cheers,
Marco

Hi,

Can you post a screen shot of this so I can better visualize this?

Thanks,

Hey!

Thanks for your reply! This is an example of the problem. The table is the item I wish to instance. The other two rectangles are the two planes usually intersecting the object. Am I doing something incorrectly? Thanks!

oh I see what is happening, the axis for the component is all wrong. Right click on the component and select to change the axis for it and position it in the middle of the object, at ground level.
