Grass options

Post by NPS »

Hi, I work in Landscape Architecture and have not as yet been able to get my grass to look convincing. It is virtually too consisten,t like carpet. I am aware that I can do patches of different heights but that is a lot of work with still less than convincing results. I need weeds, dry spots. just basically anything that looks real world. Since I use a lot of this material and grass always seems to hold back the quality of my work. Are there any options?

Cheers

I found a prior post where the attached image was used as a texture. The result was quite good. Just to take it further is there any way to scatter leaves or daises etc to take it to another level? I am thinking not but thought I would ask.

Cheers

Here is another one I use all the time too... and for the leaves, that would be a good idea, I'll submit this to the developers but for now what you can do is make one leave and make it a component then use the Fur (free plugin here is the link http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28092) to scatter as many as you want on the ground.
