Re: Underside colour
Hi Support, I am using grain free. Could you please explain "path depth" By the way the program has come a long way lately. Well Done!

Thanks
You can find the setting in the Rendering options "Trace Path".
What kind of illumination are you using? sun/sky? environment map?

Re: Underside colour
Hi, I have attached an image with 10 passes only. it also shows the settings. I have copied the cieling lights and put them near the floor to light the cieling a bit. Will olso choose another HDRI with a brighter sky. Any further suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Underside colour
did you set the sun position to match the sun position in the env map?
10 samples is way too low, not enough data, you'll need a couple of hundreds for it to be correctly rendered.

Re: Underside colour
Yes I have Sun as per envro map. Am aware of pass counts I will prob run this to about 400 Passes once I get everything right.
Re: Underside colour
Hi I have progressed a bit and have attached an image. I tried to go with a twilight render.

Re: Underside colour
I have worked more on the render, please feel free to suggest improvements, I know you will suggest 3d trees but I have never been able to find convincing ones
Also do you know how to import a texture into sketchup with normal maps. I have imported texture but when I try to import into SU I can only imoprt the texture not the normal map. I am sur I could get better with good textures
Cheers

Re: Underside colour
Oh, just to get back on topic, I have attached an image where I have not been able to get the ceiling to present as white. Could you advise please? Is "path Depth" the issue as you mentioned before?
Re: Underside colour
WOW, these are beautiful renders!!! congratulation!!!
The normal map have to be loaded in Raylectron. First, you load the texture in Sketchup, then when you export to Raylectron, open the Material Editor and bring that texture, then load the normal map.
For the ceiling in the room, it looks correct to because you have ceiling lights and the light they produce bounces off the floor and other object, significantly reducing the intensity. I have pot lights in my living room and the ceiling is very dark, just like in your render.
If you have the Path Depth set to 12, then it's all good.

Re: Underside colour
I have tried to improve on my prior render.
Re: Underside colour
wow, this one is even better. How many samples did you let it render for?

Re: Underside colour
I think about 180 at a trace depth of 12, how many do you usually render for in a scene like this?
Re: Underside colour
I think 180 is the minimum for this, I would maybe go 300. From time to time, I take a sample at 200 and then I let it run all night when I go to be and next morning I compare the 200 with the 2,000 and see what's the difference, it gives me a good idea and to me 300-500 is usually enough.

Re: Underside colour
Hi I have rendered this iteration with 500 passes, it came out well I think. Constructive criticism welcome.
Re: Underside colour
Well, all I can say is, you're better at it than the Raylectron team No criticism to say here, very well done.

Re: Underside colour
I thought I would post my final render. To see how it has progressed from what it was.The main thing is the fire was just an image and did not look right. I made some small "coals" with about 8 faces and made must faces black but made a few faces Burnt orange and khaki and made the colored faces into light emitters and I think it works
Re: Underside colour
it definitely works what you've done, it's beautiful and all I can say is "WOW"
