Re: Tales of three City (ships)

Okwa wrote: Tue Jun 11, 2024 3:05 pm It's certainly worth a try. But I think with the fog, the fact that it's bright is quite appropriate. A "flash of hope", if you like. :D
Yes, exactly :salute

I have it as my background, fits perfect with my icons at the bottom :D

Re: Tales of three City (ships)

@Okwa

thank you so much

:o :o :o WOW Chris!!! This looks so real! It's so amazing the difference with the fog, and you set it just like real life. I love mode 1 more, it's bright yes, but so full of life. You could reduce the sun's intensity a bit see how it does?

Re: Tales of three City (ships)

The problem is that Sketchup limits the fog distance to about 70000 inches (1778 meters) and Raylectron was using that. So I fixed it to unlimited and it works good now. The fog color sets both, the color and the density but also. the larger the distance is between Start and End, the less dense the ...

Re: Tales of three City (ships)

@Okwa This is just weird! Using the auto-set should give you a pretty good fog as it is based on the entire model bounding box. A black fog should basically give you no fog, not a black scene and a white fog gives, fog.

Let me go try that on a huge model, not a house model...

Re: Backlighting?

Would you have a sample model for me that I can use? I'll attempt to create a new transparency setting but based on thickness.

Re: Backlighting?

You can use a PNG image of the design where the lighter part is more transparent. However, if the patter is to be 3D, I can add to Raylectron a transparency setting based on thickness.

Re: Dakara-Class WIP

Many Thanks, Michael. The light is not the problem. My problem is the angle of view. I want to recreate one of these two angles: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/stargate/images/a/aa/AtlantisComesHome.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20090222062138 https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/stargate/images/0/07/Batt...

Re: Dakara-Class Memphis-Subclass

Okwa this is epic :o The Dakara-Class city-ship looks straight out of a sci-fi blockbuster. The level of detail on the Memphis-Subclass is insane, and the background really makes it pop. I love the whole backstory too, it’s like you’ve created an entire universe here. The names Memphis and Thebes g...

Re: Backlighting?

AnnaL I'm not sure what you need. I do understand but the picture is confusing. For backlite panels, you usually make them emitters and you can give it transparency too. You can apply a material to the panel, on both sides, with transparency and have a light behind it. But if you can give me more e...

Re: Dakara-Class WIP

Okwa This looks really nice, but the difference is that when you see Atlantis in flight, it is under atmospheric conditions, not in deep space, so it gets light from all around and anything shiny will reflect the sky and ocean whereas in space, it reflects black and anything that doesn't have direc...

ah, mode 2, the old grain free. I think I will remove this one eventually as mode 1, so far, has created much better results with fewer mistakes. What do you think?

Re: Colorado Spings takeoff

:o that's not good!!! I've never seen this before. What's different in this one compared to the others? Is the camera height way more than the others? The model scale? anything? and it's also happening in older build so this has been there for a while!

'Dancing' robot

Amazing work by Bryan Kilburn, who turned a 2D drawing by Junji Okubo into a 3D Sketchup 2017 model. I then animated it using the free Raylectron animation tool, Raynimation, right inside Sketchup 2022. I wasn't sure what to make the robot do, so I tried to make it 'dance' 😆 https://youtu.be/Jm4qelK...

Re: Star Wars Nebulon-Frigate motion blur

I didn't want to make the Nebula just a backdrop as you could get those online already and there are many out there. My goal was to make it all around the model and since it's bright, it should illuminate the model as do environment maps. I simply forgot to tell you that
