Omnidirectional stereo 3D
Just making an off-the-wall suggestion for something that would be really cool, but probably a bonus/extra more than anything else. I use an Oculus Rift headset for walkthru of a lot of my architectural models. It's cool to explore a model in 3D space, and really helps comprehension. But all the wal...

RV model
I created a very detailed model of an RV and a sway control hitch (you can find the hitch in the 3D Warehouse). Figured I'd do a nice render. The grass was created with Skatter. I used a 4K environment map (HDRI Haven has some great free HDRI maps), which gave some beautifully realistic reflections ...

Re: Feature suggestions
Another couple of suggestions. The "Save image as" dialog does three annoying things. a) It always defaults to PNG. I know that's best for least-lossy image quality, but I don't need 50Mb lossless images for every render... a 5-8Mb JPG is just fine. I would like it to remember my choice, a...

Re: Skatter Support
I know I'm resurrecting an ancient thread, but I wanted to use a Skatter-filled model today, with which I'd experimented in Thea Render for a while, before deciding that Raylectron was the better product. :-) I discovered that since Skatter can't use the proxies with Raylectron, my simple grassy are...

Re: Nighttime lighting
That didn't produce the results I needed. It turned out to require something very much like a real light system: a light source positioned some distance behind the aperture, only allowing light thru the aperture (sort of a crude pinhole camera in reverse). Also, I added a very slightly diffuse layer...

Nighttime lighting
I did a set of images for a local realtor's new spec house project, but when I was done, I wanted to play around with lighting. I was determined to figure out how to do a good set of car headlights. Took more than a few tries to figure out how to produce a realistic-looking set of light beams, but i...

Before and After
Last year my sister decided to renovate and remodel her kitchen, blowing out a couple walls and expanding into a former den area. I helped with the design, and did some renderings to help her settle on a few features. Here's a comparison between the pre-visualization render I did, and the as-built p...

Feature suggestions
I have a few feature suggestions to propose. This is already terrific software and I really love so much about it. I think these changes are fairly simple but would add a lot of value. When selecting a 360 equirectangular render, the rotation really ought to be 0 in the X axis and Z axis. If not, so...

How to create diffusing material?
I am trying to model a typical ceiling lamp with a translucent frosted glass shade, like this one: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_9ZYBvtFDj5M/TGRxV6BUUJI/AAAAAAAAG6E/R43QT0xjAQc/s1600/modern-ceiling-lamp-1.jpg It's easy enough to place a couple of bright bulbs inside the shade, but I'm not satisfied with...
