Re: Interior Rendering

I double click an rof file which has the Raylectron icon on my desktop. I believe the icon was at the bottom of my screen and that was why you couldn't see my double clicking it. The strange thing is that I was doing fine with the previous version which was 2.645 up to about a month ago. Then I trie...

Re: Interior Rendering

Hi Michael, Just did it again and the same thing happened. I always had to click the save image as twice, but it never kicked me out of the program like this time. The version is the latest 2.66 even though your website says 2.65. The video driver is up to date and still no go. Here is a little vide...

Interior Rendering

Hi Michael, Something strange has been happening for a few times already and it didn't happen before. I am trying to render a kitchen interior just as the ones I posted once (black and white) as default rendering without tweaking anything. As you are aware and might still remember, once i stop the r...

Re: Question on slope grass

So if that is the case Michael, when do you think your developers will be done resolving this issue? Would it be another months? Six months? One year r? The reason I am asking is that this issue is quite important for exterior renderings and if what you claim is true, then once your developers come ...

Re: Question on slope grass

Thanks much Michael. This is all nice and quite useful when you have a flat rectangular/square shape. But when it comes to irregular shapes with curves and so on and also not flat, then there would be a problem. Exactly when do you think this grass tool will be available? I might have to invest in a...

Re: Question on slope grass

Michael, You lost me with your example of "...6'x6' square and grass it..." Then push/pull the sides and not top and bottom!? How can I push/pull the sides of a square shape when the square is only a face? Or am I not understanding this correctly? And then after you mentioned to push/pull ...

Re: Question on slope grass

Hi Michael,
No I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Does it still have the same issue with grass blades going all over the place when we were using the grass components? I'll have to try it in a landscaping context.
Patiently waiting.

Re: Question on slope grass

Hi Michael,
Any updates on the real grass tool yet? I've been busy doing other things and didn't get a chance to ask you.
Thanks and be well,

Re: Question on slope grass

Hi Michael, That is great and this instancing would be quite useful. One question though. Is there a site that one can download free rear 3D tree files that can be opened in Sketchup and rendered nicely in Raylectron? I know there are bunch of trees in 3D warehouse but it doesn't render as nicely as ...

Re: Woods, like furnitures and flooring

Just followed your instructions and the settings and finally I can see the marble reflecting. Of course the floor lamp is too high and the light intensity is a bit high also not to mention it is too close to the walls. But other than that it is starting to look ok. This one took 47 minutes up to thi...

Re: Woods, like furnitures and flooring

Thanks Michael,
I placed 2 circular faces within the floor lamp shade one facing down and the other facing up but the result wasn't good at all. Now I know it is a cube. I'll try it. I saw all the other videos. They were great.

Re: Woods, like furnitures and flooring

Thanks Michael for pointing that out. Completely forgot to assign the background image as background. However I have tried the x-ray couple of times with no success. Can you possibly provide a little video tutorial like previous times? It would be much easier once I actually see what needs to be don...

Re: Woods, like furnitures and flooring

So I tried two times. The first picture is with the settings you provided, and the second setting I set the Dif. to 0.03 and Shininess to o.2 and still no difference as far as reflectivity. Attached please find the skp test file and the two images. I think it all depends on what kind of computer you...

Re: Woods, like furnitures and flooring

Hi Michael, Have been trying to do a polished marble floor either as one texture for the whole floor or combination of few marble textures. I can't seem to get them shine or be reflective at all even after 30 minutes with my computer. Is there a specific setting for an interior shot for marble? I ha...

Hi Michael,
So when are we going to have the easy grass material and the instructions? Or is it out already and I am missing it somehow?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Question on slope grass

Hi Michael, That was great news. I just read your post. So when are we going to have real grass as oppose to faking it with a component? And how do we go about it? Yesterday I was trying to have grass growing amongst large size ground cover tiles, so imagine lots of 24"x24" ground cover ti...

Thank you guys both. This would be quite helpful as soon as I find some time reading them. Still trying to make sense of a set of CAD drawings for that huge mansion. I just default rendered a partial basement level.
Best,

Great rendering in the other posting and thank you for the link. It is a pretty nice source. Are you a premium member yourself? Also where can you share your way of creating normal maps for any texture?
Thanks again and great work.

Re: SU plugin for making ornamental

Hi Michael, Sorry, I think I posted the wrong one. However I don't have a 3d model of the decorative ornament. If I had the model or different ornament models, I probably wouldn't be asking for a possible script. What we drew in the cad drawings were just a 2d version of what I could remember the ac...

Re: SU plugin for making ornamental

Hi Michael, Since working on the same object( doors and ornaments), I thought posting this here also. Here is my issue which might be very simple but I thought i should ask first. I assigned a wood material to the door frames and moldings and its rather a darker color as you can see in the SU materi...

Re: SU plugin for making ornamental

That could be one way of doing it but it is not an exact method since you can only be exact on the scale factor and not on what fillet radius or bevel setting your final model would have and since the dimensions are small already, sometimes the filleting or beveling delete part of the model. Michael...
