Compare files ignoring extension

This file synchronizer will generate a report of all differences between two drives/folders. This includes any missing files, modified files, duplicate files and duplicate files with date conflicts. it is ideal when comparing for example, your work files against a backup to make sure the backup is up to date.

Compare files ignoring extension

Post by JShaff »

Is there a way to get Comparator to compare the files in two different folders and only compare the filename? That is ignore the file extension. So File1.zip and File1.png would be seen as a match.

No it will not because its use is primarily for updating backups, say, saving your work on your laptop and then from your laptop to your home PC and visa-versa. However, our CloneMaster software will do that as it is used to find duplicate files no matter the file name, file extension or date.
