looking to upgrade graphics card for raylectron

Post by stevo1 »

Hi guys I am about to upgrade my graphics card which one if any does raylectron support? Also when rendering a large SU model I cannot, as it is processing the model it says 'memory is getting low' and I have no option than to close. However I have 8 gig of ram. Can someone please clarify?

Hi,

Raylectron does not use much of the video card, except to display the model as it appear in Sketchup. So if it works for Sketchup, it's good enough for Raylectron.

As for the memory, when it detect that it gets too low when processing, it will let you know and when you click on OK, it will try again using a different method. If this also produces the same error, then the only option is to add more RAM. 8gb is good, but again, it depend on your model too and also on how many programs are opened. Try to close the programs that uses a lot of RAM see if it helps. If not, let me know the size of your model and even better, the number of faces as shown in the Sketchup model statistics.

Well, that should not be a problem for 8GB of RAM, but how much RAM do you have before you export the model? Also, are you using the latest v2.65 of Raylectron?

This is not a warning nor an error. It's only informative to let you know that you should always update your video card driver for the latest version. This not only help Raylectron but Sketchup and any other programs using the video card. It helps Windows too.
