Fuel Depot of the UIM

Post by Okwa »

Something different. STAR WARS!

I'm still working on the models for my post-Palpatine factions. Today the United Imperial Moffs. Here you can see the Interstellar Transfer and Refueling Station Sigma. An outpost stationed in interstellar space that mainly serves as a fuel depot for ships of the UIM space fleet. You can see how an Oblivion-class Star Destroyer has just docked at the station. This Star Destroyer serves as the flagship of a task group, which also includes an Aegis-class heavy cruiser (left) and three Vanguard-class assault ships (right). Such task forces serve the UIM primarily as anti-piracy flotillas.

At the front of the picture is an armored Hammerfall-class shuttle/dropship escorted by two TIE Leviathan heavy fighters/light bombers.
I have also revised the description/lore for the UIM. Made it a bit more detailed. In case anyone is interested:

The United Imperial Moffs (UIM) is a federal political entity that dominates the southwestern edge of the Galactic Center, bordering the New Republic. Formed from a defensive alliance of Imperial Moffs who rejected the Empire's central government after the Emperor's death and each declared their independence, the UIM was born out of the belief that stability and order can be ensured through cooperation and decentralization. And that the wars of the central imperial warlords were pointless.

Historical development

After the Battle of Endor and the ensuing chaos in the Galactic Empire, many Moffs in the southern sectors saw the need to defend themselves. These regions were of strategic importance, but were located away from the main battlegrounds of the so-called “Revenge Campaigns”, which gave them a certain autonomy. Originally, the Moff alliance was purely defensive, designed to fend off attacks from Imperial loyalists, the New Republic or other factions. Over time, cooperation in the military, economic and administrative fields led to a closer alliance. Eventually, the Federation of United Imperial Moffs was formed, a semi-autonomous confederation with a strong federal character.
Political structure

The UIM is an authoritarian parliamentary federation consisting of several semi-independent Moff domains. Each Moff governs his territory with extensive autonomy, as long as the general federal laws and guidelines are adhered to. The Council of Moffs acts as the supreme parliamentary body and is composed of the representatives of the member territories. Although the Council is democratically legitimized - the Moffs are elected by the local elites in most territories, in some cases also by - albeit limited - elections - it has authoritarian powers that go far beyond those of a typical parliament, as the authority of the Council is primarily legitimized militarily.
The UIM has no central ruler, be it a president, monarch or dictator. Instead, the chairmanship of the Council of Moffs rotates regularly, with the chairmen essentially acting as primus inter pares. This structure enables collective leadership, but prevents a concentration of power in one person. A situation that each of the ruling moffs fears more than anything else.

Economy and society

The UIM is strongly characterized by a federal economy in which trade, raw material extraction and industrial production are evenly distributed across the regions. Many areas of the UIM have specialized in certain sectors, from high technology to agriculture, creating a complex network of economic dependencies. This measure can be seen as a further domestic security measure, as the existing dependencies mean that actions by the individual Moffs against each other must be regarded as downright suicidal.

Socially, the UIM is characterized by a class system that reflects traditional imperial hierarchies. The upper class consists of local elites and military leaders who derive their power from the imperial past and their military service to the state and the people. Nevertheless, there is a surprising openness between the classes within the UIM. Ascents and descents are possible and are supported by some of the more progressive moffs.

Military orientation

The UIM armed forces are organized on a federal basis, with each territory responsible for defending its own borders. For overarching military operations, however, the armed forces are placed under federal control. The UIM invests heavily in a modern fleet and mobile defense systems to ensure its independence from the New Republic and the Remnant Empire.

Cultural identity

Although the UIM has its roots in the Galactic Empire, it differs in its greater emphasis on pragmatic cooperation and regional diversity. The UIM's identity is based on the ideal that stability can be achieved through a balance between centralized leadership and regional autonomy. While many old Imperial traditions such as the emphasis on discipline and strength are maintained, there are also efforts to distance itself from the past and present a more modern image.

I've also been doing Star Trek and Star Wars for 2 years now. But the main focus is on my Stargate-Battlestar Galacitice AU

Yes, this is completely my story. As a little reminder, at the very end of this thread is a description of the scenario for this AU. viewtopic.php?p=10051&hilit=UIM#p10051

But I want to revise the station again. It's design too simple for me.
