Star Trek: Battle of Axanar

Post by Okwa »

I'm currently working on some more Star Trek-related images. February is Star Trek month for me. These are two more of the images - besides the “Battle of Cheron II” that I've already posted - that I've created for this special theme month.

The first image recreates a scene from the series “Enterprise”. A Klingon warship under the command of Duras the Elder attacks the NX-01 Enterprise while it is on its way home, already within sight of Sol. Since the Enterprise is already so close to the Sol system, two Ganges-class and one Intrepid-class ship are dispatched to support the Enterprise. Alone, the Enterprise is no match for the Klingon Raptor, but four Starfleet ships are a bit much, even for a Klingon.

The second image is a realization of the “Battle of Axanar”. This is a battle mentioned only in dialog, of which it is only known that Captain Garth of Izar won an overwhelming victory for Starfleet at Axanar. Unfortunately, no further information is known in canon, not even against whom Garth won. In fanon, like me, it is the Klingons that Garth fought, but some prefer to use the Romulans. We see how the USS Crossfield, Crossfield-Class, under the command of Garth, together with her escort ships, six Ares-Class destroyers and two Enterprise-Class frigates, carry out a feigned retreat to lure the Klingons into a trap prepared by Garth. The scene should actually show a lot more ships on both sides. But it became too confusing for me when I tried to show the actual number of ships.

For those who are wondering and don't know my AU yet. All images are part of my “Spherical Starfleet” AU, in which Starfleet realizes upon testing the Vulcan drive design that a combination of Earth and Vulcan design is most effective. However, it is even better if the starships are spherical in design rather than needle (Vulcan) or saucer/tube (Earth). This is why all Starfleet starships are spherical with warp nacelles arranged in a ring.

@Okwa

What do you mean by "For those who are wondering and don't know my AU yet"??

The only think missing are the explosions :lol:

Did you use God's Ray for the laser?? I tried but can't get it like that! Well done :salute

Many Thanks.

It's possible that someone who doesn't know the AU yet will come along, isn't it? :D

Good point.

Yes, I used God's ray. And I also had to try it out for about an hour before I got this result. You definitely have to set Beam Kind = None and Intensity = 100. Above all, it depends on the size of the overall scene. If it is too large, it won't work. The beam should not be longer than 100 metres. It still works up to 200 metres. But as you can see on the picture ‘Bring it down’, with lengths of more than 100 m, there it is 175 m, there can be gaps in the beam.

Spontaneously, :lol: I added a few explosions at Mike's suggestion.

@Okwa

I thought that Raylectron's stars had a bug, being on front of everything :o

Explosions indeed, but too perfect I think :D but still looks very cool :salute

I am lazy in my spontaneity. I just made dots with a pen tool instead of drawing the “explosions” more roughly by hand like last time. :oops: :lol:
