Wondering if you have a material setup you use for Stainless Steel? I can't seem to get it to look quite right.
Also failed at making a "black glass" top range. It ended up looking.... like a white fuzzy thing
alot of the settings seem different now. Like i used to set diffuse to 0.01 alot, now there is no diffuse, and i think its roughness, but i have no idea what to set it to.... since its now a slider that starts at 1.

Re: Stainless Steel
The sliders are from 0 to 100 but the Roughness (was Diffused) and the Shininess are the same as the old settings x10, so if you had a Diffuse of 0.01 then it is now Roughness=0.1 (0.01x10)
For Stainless Steel (polished as suppose?), have you tried with a color of 145,145,145 and Shininess=80%
and for black glass use color 130,130,130 or less and 100% refection. But I think black glass is glass with the bottom side painted black isn't it?

Re: Stainless Steel
those are perfect, thanks...
I assume to make it a brushed stainless i would want to just pump up the roughness on it?

Re: Stainless Steel
Yes, you can start with a roughness of 1 at first. Or you could use a brushed texture and use the bump level of 10 or so.

Re: Stainless Steel
Here is another one for you. I used a 512x512 gray (163,163,163) material at 1"x1" and attached a normal map (see below) to it with a bump depth of 5 and Shininess=80%

Re: Stainless Steel
Hi, I'm a newbie. Can I use this material in my work. How do I download them?
Re: Stainless Steel
Hi,
You can download the above diffuse and the normal map files from the following site...
https://www.filterforge.com/filters/4486.html
At the bottom, under "Texture Maps", download both, the diffuse map and the normal map. Use the diffuse map in Sketchup as the texture material, and set the normal map file in the Raylectron Sketchup material editor.
