Shadows

Post by zaid.kilani »

Hi Support (again), my question this time, is there any way to control shadows? if I want to make them harder or softer? Also, is there any other toutorials on how to use lights for interior rendering other than the one on your website? Regards, Zaid

Hello,

No because the shadows are real life shadows. You can use ambient occlusion and control the shadow intensity, but it's not real.

For the lights, you any object you want, a square, a light bulb etc. and paint it with a material named "Emitter", "Emitter - ceiling", "Emitter - kitchen" etc. Make sure the front face is facing in the direction of the light beam, both side can illuminate if you want. That's why we only have this one tutorial on lights, they are very simple to make. But if you have a problem with them, can you please explain what it is?

I have news for you. In v4.95 you can save the layers so you can use them in Photoshop for example and change the shadow layer as you wish. let me know if you are interested in testing it.

Hi,

You need to save as PNG (the default) and it will create new files in the same place you saved the PNG.
