Date & Time synchronization

This file synchronizer will generate a report of all differences between two drives/folders. This includes any missing files, modified files, duplicate files and duplicate files with date conflicts. it is ideal when comparing for example, your work files against a backup to make sure the backup is up to date.

Date & Time synchronization

Post by Wally »

I have 4.10 and use it to backup my directory to a removable disk. Over time however, with the daylight saving time changes, the date and time - mainly the time however seems to change by an hour. I have to do a 1 hour time zone adjustment on my removable drive to best compare the fixed dir to the removable one.
Question is then, is there a way to do a 1 time pass of the two directories and re-sync the (date and) time to the fixed drive time? I realize this may be dangerous, but if one is sure that the files are synched OK and it is just the time that is askew, then I would like to start off again from a 0 base startpoint as it were.
I know I can just compare to a brand new empty directory and copy everything over again, but this is a pain when a lot of data is involved.
Do you have or know of any software that can do this?
Thanks
Wally

Have you tried to sort the list of files by date, and only copy over those that are an hour ahead (or behind)? CP uses Windows system/local time so it should be set properly when it ask Windows for the file time. But again!
