Metal finishes

Post by GateGirl86 »

My first question for the forum.

I've been trying in vain to get that proper 'look' with stainless steel, unpolished. While what I'm looking for isn't quite shiny, as with chrome or silver; I guess the best way to describe it is a dull shine.
Is there a secret to getting that look?

Try with the combination of Shine and Diffuse. Like maybe 20 shine and 0.2 diffuse. You have to experiment with these settings to get it the way you like it.

Thank you. I'll give it a try and hopefully have something to show.

I managed to resolve the decking, it does look quite good.

However....my little R2 didn't quite come out the way I wished it to, namely the top grey section of his 'dome'. That should look like brushed stainless steel.
