Atlantis at night
I've tried doing night scenes with the stars and moon, having varying success (and failures). This one seems to have come out reasonably well, but I'm sure I can do better.

Re: Atlantis at night
It came out good, remember that only the moon illuminates so it's normal to be that dark and the lights out of the windows aren't strong enough which is normal too.

Re: Atlantis at night
Yes that is something I've learnt. Can you also set the window lights, for example, to a much lower value so that they are merely just a dull light?
One other question, how can I generate a late afternoon colour, with the sky box ticked? (it'd be a shade of pink/orange)

Re: Atlantis at night
For the lights, double click the Power to reset it to 35 and the Area Adjustment to reset it to zero, then use a lower power, like 10-20? You can also change the color of the light.
For the sky, set the Turbidity and Density.

Ah yes I remember now the light settings.
Will that change the colour? For the sky, set the Turbidity and Density.

Re: Atlantis at night
Actually, it won't. I turned on the Sky and set the Sky Brashness to 0.008 and it looks a bit blue, but no orange horizon as there is no Sun!

Re: Atlantis at night
I do in fact.
This was what I had in mind for the setting
And this is what I was looking to achieve (without adding a fixed image)

Re: Atlantis at night
oh I can certainly make it look like that, the Textured Ground can be made an ocean in the Material Editor and the sky can already look like that except it's only at the horizon and all I have to do is add a new setting "Turbidity Cutoff" to make it cover more the sky than just the horizon.

Re: Atlantis at night
Would you be able to a test model for me, so I could try to copy what you had done?
Just a blank scene with as you said the ground and sky settings

Re: Atlantis at night
I didn't do anything yet. I have to add that setting in Raylectron first to make it look like the one you post, but, you can already turn the ground into an ocean, it's easy...

This, I will be trying out tonight! Thank you!

Re: Atlantis at night
What do you think of this one? I have implemented a new setting for the horizon cutoff and using the Turbidity, Density and Sky Brightness, I was able to get this. The ocean is also generated by Raylectron but it can be better with a nicer normal map.

Re: Atlantis at night
Using the new Cutoff setting, it makes it easy to create that orange sky. What do you think?

Re: Atlantis at night
and for this one, I set the Brightness to 0.0012 to keep a bit of the blue sky. Looks cool, I think!

O-M-G!
They are seriously excellent. Now I will try to emulate that as soon as I can. In the meantime, I did manage this

WOW, that's stunning (hmmm, no Love icon in phpbb )
Maybe I can PM you the new Raylectron with the Cutoff setting?

Re: Atlantis at night
Thank you. And now I can't recall what I did Lol. More fiddling, I should really write some of my settings down.
Btw, I don't have the 'cutoff' setting?

Re: Atlantis at night
I think I'm getting the hang of it.
One question, how do you make lights, in this case they are windows, softer, more natural rather than just a white sharp box.? As you can see I've set it way down to 3, yet its still the same.

This looks really cool
For the lights, you can't just make the window a light, you need to make it 100% transparent and pure white, then, add a light in the room so the walls will be visible through the window, giving you that soft light.
