@Okwa Well, it looks like you teleported that dot on your screen to mine because I can't make it do that

I'm going to have a new tab for "Ocean", it looks so cool and it's not slow. It looks way better than using the "Sea Wave" texture, no repetitions and it looks like water, not bubble wrap

First one is the old way with Sea Wave texture, the other two are the new way. I think I'm done and all I have to do now is the new tab for the settings :)

New: Ocean

Working on an ocean/lake that looks much better than using the Sea Wave ground texture. It doesn't use a normal map, eliminating pattern repetition.

@Support Well, I didn't manage the shoreline that well. But the new water is really WOW.

It looks really nice indeed :salute

I'm still not happy with the way the settings work. It works nicely when the camera is low, but when it's very high, the settings are way too sensitive. I have to find a way to correct that.

@Okwa ok, I've made it simple now. The Length can go up to 200000 (internally in inches) but there is a button on the right of it that will automate the value for it. Basically, it set it to half the camera height, in inches. From there, you can simply adjust it the way you like and when the camera goes up/down, the waves will be looking smaller/bigger, just like the rest of the model.

@Support You are an absolute perfectionist! :D :salute As soon as the computer is ready (updates are annoying  ), I'll try it out.

oh I know, even with fast internet, it's the install that takes forever!

I've updated the download link in my previous reply because "Batch Rendering" didn't work, now it does, if you ever need it.

I created three images for testing. Different heights, different viewing angles. Length of the waves set with the auto function. I adjusted the amplitude and granulation by feel. :D

Batch rendering? I think I'm in the dark, what is batch rendering? Doesn't mean anything to me right now.

@Okwa WOW, they look so good Chris :salute :salute :salute :salute

Do you think the settings works good now and should anything changes? Maybe add the Ground Color in there too so you don't have to keep om going to the Sun/Sky settings?

Barch rendering is when you have Scenes (like the Sketchup scenes) and want to render them all, so you don't have to do them one by one.

I would leave the ground color where it is. Sometimes you need the function for other reasons. And it's more logical this way, I think. It's easier to remember where it is. And switching back and forth between the tabs is not difficult work by any stretch of the imagination.

Ah, I've never done that before. That's why I have no idea.

@Okwa Chris, may I ask you, since you are the user not me, is there a feature or features you wish Raylectron had?

I actually had an idea yesterday when I was creating the new version of the Atlantis image. I actually wanted to ask you whether my idea could be implemented, but then I forgot about it again.
Can you give the fog function a bit more structure? In the original version of this image, I showed Atlantis and the Dakara ships in the fog. I actually wanted to do that again, but it didn't look so good.

By structure, I mean that the nebula is fairly uniform in color. In reality, it's more the case that fog is stronger here and weaker there. And at one point the fog lifts completely. Is it possible to create a certain "wobble" like this?
I'm just wildly fantasizing now. But how about if the user could insert a texture as a kind of basis for a pattern. Let's say I put a kind of camouflage pattern, with alternating light and dark colors. And the fog function, for example, puts this texture over the whole picture, very transparent of course. So that a fog is created that is denser in one place, weaker in another place and has a complete gap in another place.

oh yes, I understand. This would make it so realistic, and I can add a vertical range too, not just depth. Let me get right on it......... :salute

@Support One question, Michael. What kind of texture did you use for the ground in the first image? One from the Raylectron library? I can't find this texture in Sketchup. It looks much better than the ones I always use to deface my scenes.

oh, that's my favorite one, it looks so good, even when deformed. I use it for the ground and then add grass assets and tress etc. so that the empty patches still look like grass, not just a solid color. On small areas, I use it and convert it to grass (not assets) and each grass blade takes on the color where it sits, so all the blades are not looking the same, it looks super real. Here is the miracle texture...
