Great! This will save me time from having to import an HDRI for skies and gives me a lot more sky options!

It took me just a few minutes to find and figure out the controls, but overall, it's quite easy.

These were just quick test renders, BTW.

We're trying to make it easy. The ones you'll use the most is the sun elevation to make it closer to the horizon and the turbidity to make the color more orange and red, and the sun glare to make it not so much a sphere but a glowing sun.

That's good to know. I had not thought of that! Thanks! I'll play with this some more this week.

Preview of the stars. What do you think of it? Please be honest, no offence taken, we want to make it right.

The spread is good but there are too many large bright ones. About half might work?

It could also use a couple of very small, very bright ones.

This is still pretty damn good, though! Wow!

I fiddled with the sky and cloud settings. Just tweaked until I liked the look.

Is there a way to make fluffy clouds? And add more shadow in the clouds?

No fluffy clouds yet. It's very complicated to make already and to make fluffy ones is even more complicated and CPU intensive. We want to make it fast enough and not slow down the render to a crawl.

This is about as good as we can make it as a default settings. Is it better than the last?

Makes perfect sense. What you have now is damn good as it is. Good job!

Another test trying to re-create the original render which used and HDRI (posted in this gallery in a seperate thread).

I think it came out close enough as to be no significant difference! (which is good!)

Thanks!

Even with taking the time to adjust the sky controls and run low number sample tests, it's still far faster than loading and rendering with an HDRI. Which means more final renders to choose from in a shorter amount of time.

Love it! Thanks for asking me to test this!

That was the idea because trying to find a free HDRI sky map that suit your need is very much time consuming, and that is if you can even find one!

Thank for testing it. We're almost done with the stars. Since the sun appears the same size as the moon (we can observe that in an eclipse) we can use the sun but no sky and behind a tree, it looks like a moon so that's kind of cool already, maybe photoshop the moon face in the final render, or we may add that too.

Hey guys,

Do you have an ETA for the features to go live? My current project needs exactly this.

Keep up the great work! I am just four weeks into rendering and thanks to raylectron I was able to get very satisfying results done.

Ben

Hello Ben,

It should be out within a week. We're finalizing the stars and the moon.
