Stargate ships part 2. Using backround images
One of the wonderful things with Raylectron you can do is using background images to get a great photo as opposed to using HDRIs. The best way I have found to do this is to get your lighting right before uploading the image. So for example if it us a space theme like the one I am using here, set up your model with the sun/moon mode as either late afternoon or evening. Get your shadows just as you want them to be, then upload your image. Don't use images that are either too large, or too small; they should be somewhere around the same size or just slightly larger than the resolution you have set.

That makes perfect sense, 100%, thanks for the advice and I hope others will read it and create renders as beautiful is this one.

Re: Stargate ships part 2. Using backround images
It took a lot of trial and error to get it where I wanted it to be. I think if you're not in a rush, experimentation works very well, as you gradually see the changes each time you try something different.
You're most welcome and yes I do hope they do.

Trial and error make perfect, anything less is, well, less "good"

Re: Stargate ships part 2. Using backround images
Thank you.
Now here is a good question. Does my ship look anything like the Galactica?
I've been having a week long argument with a man on FB. He says its just a Galactica clone, why I don't know? And while the nose shape is similar, that's about as close as it gets. I've done a model of the Galactica some years ago, so I think I know what I'm talking about.

That is what I and a dozen others said. But this man was adamant. So badly the Admin of that group had to sin bin him for 48 hours!

The shape is similar, not the same, but similar. Anyone thinking it's a clone is just narrow minded, like saying a car is a clone of a truck because the shape is similar

To be honest, your ship looks exactly like the NCC-1701

I used a similar example, I said you couldn't say an Arliegh Burke Destroyer was the USS Missouri because they were both ships and had much the same bow
Someone else mentioned the Pegasus, but they at least had the courtesy to say it was only remotely similar.
who is Bryan?

Despite being shot down by at least a dozen people, he still went on until I had to lock the thread!
