v5.1 sneak peek

v5.1 has a complete rebuild of its Sketchup exporter. Fewer files and the export is incredibly fast and load in Raylectron using way less memory. What took 8GB now takes 500MB. Distorted textures are no longer exported as thousands of little textures, only the original is exported.

Beside the new exporter, we've added a new setting for the Sun/Sky called Cutoff, which allow the Turbidity to show more into the sky instead of only the horizon. You can create Marse like atmosphere or other cool effects.

We've also added God's ray to the sun and lights as show below...

I do too but I'm not sure how I can include them in the list of Smilies in PHPBB other than adding as a picture to the message!

BTW, I fixed Raylectron to use the ground color instead of the ground material color so that if you use transparency in the ground material, the ground color will show instead of the material color, but for reflection and shine, the material color is used, that way, you can have 2 colors instead of just one. Like, make the texture color white and shine of 10, and, black ground color, looks nice and more real.

You can add as many smilies as you like in PhpBB. Its been a while since I've used that (mine is Simple Machines) but most forum that are based off PhPbb are much the same. You just need to search through your admin panel. It should be under 'Posting'

That should be cool

I'd like to try it out. Although I can't work out the settings at all?

For something this large compared to a house light, you'll need to increase A LOT the power and area to get the God's Ray to show. If you want, PM me the skp file and I'll find a good setting for you.

I didn't do much on this, all I did is set Artificial Lights, Sun, Stars and No Ground. For the light, I left it all at default and turned on God's Ray and set Spread=0.2 Density=1.0 Range=0.8 Coverage Angle at its minimum of 0.01 and rendered it as-is...

Much better than I could have managed. So I think I can work with that and do some further experimenting.

Thank you so much! :D

I just set it so it's not too crazy, the default settings for the God's Ray is way too much! But if you start with those settings, it'll be easy to tune it to the way you like it.

Figuring it out right now in fact. Although is there a way for the actual energy bar to remain blue and not white?
