The Puddle Jumper
Welcome to Raylectron's Stargate forum.
I must thank Michael for his dedication and support he has given me over the last few months; his tireless patience has allowed me to pursue things with 3D modelling with Sketchup that few thought possible.
This first entry is something that pulls all three Stargate franchises together, and while the much loved Puddle jumper was not featured in Stargate Universe, the fact it was created by the 'Ancients', as was the Destiny itself, gives it that credibility to be the starting point for this little corner of the Raylectron forum.
About this render.
It began late yesterday (09/12/22) as an exercise for God's ray. But because of the sheer size of the file, it took many hours to get to where I was happy with it. I did in fact leave the rendering running overnight. So we're looking at nearly 12 hours. I will say this, you have to be patient. A rushed job will never give you joy.
Featured as the background to the Jumper, is my BB320 class battle ship.

Thank you "Sam", I really appreciate it
I'm very impress how you used the God's Ray, it's so perfect.

You're more than welcome
I wasn't sure how it would come out. It certainly surprised me.

I think there is a lot of depth with all the different classes of ships created in the Stargate world. And while they didn't create a lot that us mere mortals made, from all the other factions it told a different story. Even today, the simplicity of the Puddle Jumper still draws me in.

Me too, I watched it so many times already and I just can't get tired of it. The new movies now are too dark and negative, in my opinion.

Same. And yes, everything has to be so full of angst and hurt these days

That's quite a lot of work making these, very impressive. I only use models from the 3D warehouse. I don't have enough patience to make that kind of quality.

Thank you.
I think the patience comes to you in the end. When I started I wanted to do everything quickly. The crappy stuff I made then soon had me realising that there was something in doing a job right and that did require patience.
