Higher Resolution?

So I've been rendering products in FHD quality and this particular one I rendered for 8hrs just to see how it would come out if I left it alone all day and it still seems really pixelated around the edges of the model. Am I doing something wrong in terms of the quality I'm choosing or do I just need to render longer?

First, it should only take no more than a minute to render fully, or even seconds not even a minute. From what I see, you have saved the image with transparent background so the edges could be more or less visible depending on the background. In this picture, I don't see any pixelation at all and I had to zoom like 500x to see the edges on a black background.

I have no idea what settings you use and if you used the CPU or GPU version. I also don't see what you see "seems really pixelated around the edges" on a white background.

Sorry, I should have included more information! I am using CPU version with Sketchup. I have been exporting with transparent background so we can situate it within our promotional material easier as the background color changes. The image attached shows it on a white background but the edges of the model just don't look "smooth" if that makes sense, like the diagonals and rounded areas look staggered. I don't really know how to explain it, maybe I need to change my FOV and bring the model in closer so when I resize in photoshop its not as pixelated. Just trying to figure out if I'm just messing it up lol I have attached the settings file and model as well. Thanks!

I think you sent me the wrong model, it's all square tables and chairs, not this round one.

I'm looking at the setting file you sent and you are using the Sun along with the Environment map, Do not use the sun. Also, the materials show you have 2 artificial lights (light 1 and light 4), you should not use them either with this Environment map.

Sorry about the file. Here is correct one. Would I just not use an environment map at all if I am trying to create a specific lighting situation and only use artificial lights and vice versa?

You are correct. But if you plan on rendering this with transparent background, then Env map only would be best as the light source is 360 degrees in all defections. Otherwise, a closed room (use a section cut on a wall for the Raylectron camera to see through the wall) with lights will produce different results and no transparent background is possible. Let me take a look at your model and do a render...

I removed the box you had around the table and used the Multi Area Light in the Environment map as opposed to white and let it render for 150 sample, 50 seconds and saved with transparent background and this is what I got...

and his one, I set the brightness of the Env map to 2 and rotated it to -80 to shine on the table. I've also set all of the material of the table to Shine=20 and no reflection (you had one with reflection) and rendered for a minute...

and for this one, I used the box you had around the model, made the 2 walls and ceiling emitters (removed the back wall) and only had Artificial lights on and this is what I got...

In my opinion, the 3 sided box as a light (no back wall and no floor so we can save with transparent background) came out much nicer than with the env map.

Here is a screen shot of how it is in Sketchup...

Thank you so much!! I was really struggling to figure out the issue. Yes I agree that the 3 sided light looks a lot better than the env. map. This makes much more sense. Thank you again!! <3
