Increased the ceiling lights cone angle. Made the art objects in the alcove slightly more shiny. Increased the globe light about 5%.

This was how it was supposed to look. Dense, foggy outdoors with light filtering from above. But the fog and light setting did not work so I had to create a light bar and use God Rays. But then the tree leaves textures did not work. PNG transparency problem. So the original above is as close as I could get.

I'm trying to resolve the leave texture problem. No luck so far beyond looking at weeks of modeling and placing each leaf.

THIS is the original picture I copied from. I spent a week trying to get even just close to this lighting.

If the leaves are PNG with alpha channel, they should not show the transparency part. In your render, they look like rectangles, so something isn't right. Even in draft mode they should show properly. The fog doesn't work like the old way. It works the same as in Sketchup. In any case, I have just updated the download to v5.3 and in this version, for the CPU, under Grain Free in the Illumination settings, you have Mode 1 and Mode 2 when Mode 2 is the old way and Mode 1 is the new way, and it's so fast and the render is way better too and you only need a few samples, unlike Mode 2 where you need 100+ samples. Can you give it a try see if that fixes the issues you're having?

That's weird, the grain wasn't there in the render. 50 samples at 6 minutes and it looked perfect in the render window. CPU mode. Testing GPU now.

I'll have to test GPU later. Controls are very, very slow. Render time to quality is not as good as CPU.

Something is definitely not right Bryan. The leaves are still not right and the grain, where do they come from??? Would you share your SKP with me so I can try it?

I exported your model, put shine on the floor and made the emitters then render for 10 sec (3 samples). The leaves are proper, the fog is from the Sketchup settings, looks proper too. Which version of Sketchup did you use to export it?

I closed in the open area with a portal so Raylectron knows where to look for outdoor light (see screen shot, the red part) and rendered it for 10 sec with Environment on and everything else off, fog as it was in Sketchup.

In this one, I turned off the fog, turned on the sun, sky, clouds and mountains, made fur on the carpet, rendered for 20 sec, no grains.

SU 2022.

Hmm, interesting.

Here's the render at 108 samples jpeg export. 20 minutes. Far faster than the previous version. Much better result this time. I always seem to have weirdness the first time I use Raylectron updates and then it works great after the 2nd or 3rd render. It's no problem as it seems to work itself out.
