Lighting Issue?

Post by AnnaL »

I will attach some images but I am having trouble with a specific portion of my image being lit and it just doesn't seem right. Looking for thoughts on why the flooring under the desk is so bright.

Hello,

First, let me ask you to update your Raylectron to v5.3 build 41 released yesterday. I'm sure this will fix your problem as we made many changes to the core render engine.

Please let me know how it goes?

Here is the download link. Use the full installer and make sure to exit Sketchup first...

Is it supposed to look "smudged" like this in the beginning of the render?

Well, yes and no, you need to let it run a bit longer. Remember that you have missing walls, and you use an environment map that is very bright, and everything is white in all directions.

Try with the default "White" environment map instead. Maybe make your walls light gray instead of pure white.

Is this eventually going to be a closed room with one or more windows?

No intention of making it a closed room. Was just needing the product in the corner rendered neatly. My walls are actually a light blue [per my company's branding]. I tried the all white environment and its still giving me that weird spot under the desk. I have attached my skp and cfg files in case you want to take a look. I even tried artificial lights at one point and it still happened. Not sure what to do.

Ok Ie may be crazy but could it be because my room is sitting half under the base plane of my sketchup model?

I see that half of it is below the ground, so I moved everything up above the ground. Same result thought, I'm not sure why and I will fix this ASAP. But it works fine in the GPU. Do you have a good video card? If so, try it with the GPU see how it goes?
