Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
@Okwa Thanks Chis and you are not boring me with details, I actually love when you do
wow, just 2 minutes with 81 emitters? and all God's ray? I didn't expect that because I didn't try it when making updates! But this makes me very happy to know that it got that fast

Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
@Okwa I'm with you on that, Michael is brilliant, and just to prove it too, as you did with your latest fantastic Danara's Revenge render, this render took 1 second, 1 sample only, sun and nebula (using the CPU version with 8 threads) That's just nuts this new version of Raylectron

@Alienizer Thanks but I'm just a programmer, really, ok ok, a brilliant one I like that render, to be one second and only 8 threads, it's impressive!

Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
@Support 2 min 35 sec, to be exact. For 35 samples. There are 9 spaceships with 9 engines each.I only tried it out of "desperation" because I don't really have time this weekend, but still wanted a rendered image for my post on DA next week. I was also surprised that it rendered at all. The earlier versions would have had massive problems with so much god rays.
@Alienizer Absolutely agree with you. The new Raylectron version is insane.
Your rendering is fantastic and the model is absolutely stunning.

Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
@Okwa I have a big hall with 120 lights and I was shocked that it rendered so fast using the latest version. It usually takes a good 30 min to get it done nicely. But with this new version, only a few minute for 8 samples but it was done at 3 samples. At first, I thought I was doing something wrong, like the path depth set to 1 but no, it was set at 24, so I kept on looking all over for a wrong setting, then came here and saw your post, Chris, very nice btw, I said ah, that explains it. Why didn't you do this sooner Michael? Well done on your fleet @Okwa and well done on this new version and thank you @Support
Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
102 samples. 3 minutes. Traces set to 10. CPU.

Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
I seriously thought this was a clip from a movie!!! HOLY COW this looks so darn real
102 samples in just 3 minutes
Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
Thanks!
Yeah, I had to wait for the ribs on rear main thruster to anti-alias. No complaints. I used to wait for hours for a good render.
Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
oh! that's what it does when we let it run longer? Thanks for the info, I didn't know that!BKilburn wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 11:08 pmThanks!

Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
@BKilburn You must be working for Hollywood because I too got fooled thinking it was a clip from a movie perhaps to ask Support if Raylectron can do this. It's extremely impressive, to say the least.
Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
@BKilburn
@Alienizer @Mike Didn't fool me because I know Bryan otherwise, I would have.
However, this is Hollywood quality right there, super impressive Bryan, well done

Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
It does for me. But then I have a lot details in my models, so there are many weird edges. Raylectron has done a great job of anti-aliasing since ver 5.0 and doing it faster with each update.Alienizer wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 11:14 pmoh! that's what it does when we let it run longer? I wish somebody paid me for my work. But alas, I'm just another stuggling artist.

Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
Mine are not that detailed and I only have a small monitor, so maybe I didn't pay attention to anti-aliasing, I was just letting it run just because, basically I'll pay attention to that on my next renderBKilburn wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 12:29 am It does for me. Eventually, we all be struggling as AI takes over, music, art, just about everything, eventually.

Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
It will be a long time before AI is good enough.
Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
Yep, just like @GateGirl86 was once here on the forum a lot, posting nice renders but no longer as she seems to use AI all the time now on DA. It's so unfortunate
Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
True, but that day will still come. It won't stop me, even if I'm the only one left having a non-AI renderer.

If AI becomes good enough and humans only produce AI stuff, there will be no more AI training as there won't be anymore new data from humans to train the AI with. AI don't have imagination like we do.

Re: Let's celebrate the latest version of Raylectron
AI has made impressive strides in generating art and music, but it's unlikely to replace human ingenuity. Human art is deeply connected to personal experiences and emotions, which AI can't authentically replicate. True innovation often involves breaking conventions and thinking outside the box, something AI struggles with because it relies on existing patterns. Art reflects cultural and social contexts that require a human understanding, making it more than just a product of algorithms.
Creative works also involve moral choices and a sense of authenticity tied to the creator's identity, aspects that AI lacks. Many artistic achievements result from human collaboration, where diverse perspectives and ideas come together in dynamic and unpredictable ways. Moreover, creating art provides personal satisfaction and growth, which is intrinsic to the human experience. While AI can enhance creativity, it won't fully replace the unique qualities of human artistic expression.
That's how I see it, AI don't have a soul, we do.
