Re: New Fog Request
Didn't you say in the other comment that it was a difficult task? And then you post a image like this. OMG!!!!! That's fantastic!!! It looks so much more realistic. My opinion.Support wrote: Sat Aug 10, 2024 11:43 pm @Okwa Chris, is this kind of the look you were looking for?
Re: New Fog Request
@Okwa Yes it was difficult, I worked day and night on it just to get that look, but now, I'm struggling to make useable settings for it!!! Like, how to name each settings, what values etc because it all changes like the ocean waves does based on the camera height. The biggest problem is speed, I can make real fog, but it'll take a few minutes to render just one pass. The way I did it now, doesn't make it much slower, maybe a few seconds slower which is acceptable.
I'm glad you like it

Re: New Fog Request
@Okwa ok, I think I got it setup right, I hope! Can you give it a try see how it works for you? and what is wrong with it, what needs changing, adding, modifying etc?
The "Density" setting works in combination with "Haze." "Haze" makes the fog appear more feathered rather than chunky. The "Horizontal" and "Vertical" settings control the "stretching" of the fog, affecting how chunky it appears in these two directions.
Now I hope to see an awesome render from you

Re: New Fog Request
@Support Brilliant, Michael. Honestly, I don't know what you should change. The setting options, and when you have to set what, are practically self-explanatory after a bit of trial and error. Everyone understands that after 5 minutes at the latest.
Since I couldn't decide which setting looks better, more "natural", I'm posting three fog settings here. The last image has the same settings as the second image. I just positioned the sun differently to see what effect this has. Really epic work.

Re: New Fog Request
Well Chris, have you gone warp speed? This looks fantastic, did you use motion blur for the fighters? they're going straight for the Klingon cruiser, it's obvious, we can feel it, Klingon in panic modeOkwa wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 3:05 am @Support Couldn't resist creating a space scene with nebula. Re: New Fog Request
@Support Many Thanks. I think the second setting for the fog, especially when the sun is higher in the sky, looks the most natural.
Yes, I have set a motion blur for the Federation fighters. Actually also for the Klingon cruiser. But the scene originally looks different. I mean, the background looks different. That's why I had set the motion blur for the cruiser very low. And since I only removed the planet from the background and added the nebula and didn't change anything else, you don't really notice the motion blur on the cruiser.

Re: New Fog Request
I like the cruiser the way it is, it's a sitting duck, disabled by the Federation fighters which are going straight to it and invade it.Okwa wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 2:09 pm @Support Many Thanks. Re: New Fog Request
@Okwa I've made it even better. The fog color blending is now correct, and, I've added a "Scale", "Height" and you can use the Fog Start distance too. Note that the distance and height are feathered in/out so it's not abrupt start/end.
The Scale is like a zoom in/out so it makes it smooth, and some patches have no fog when set low. The Height is the height where the fog end, but it's feathered, not so obvious. The fog color also act as like density, the darker the color, the less dense the fog is.
Now I think you can really make it exactly how you like it.

Re: New Fog Request
You are a perfectionist maniac. But unfortunately also a huge genius. It took me a little while to get the right settings. But doesn't it look as if small patches of fog are rising from the sea everywhere? This is so AWESOME!!!!Support wrote: Thu Aug 15, 2024 12:50 am @Okwa I've made it even better. Re: New Fog Request
@Okwa Thanks so much Chris
Yes it does look like fog patches from the ocean, looks awesome and I'm happy that you like it
But now, I don't know what else to add in Raylectron

@Okwa WOW dude, these looks AWESOMELY beautiful
@Support I have downloaded that latest, and boy, I truly love what you've added lately to Raylectron, the texture deform, the ocean and now the fog which I used in this render
This render is all Raylectron, clouds, ocean, trees, grass, fog. Simply amazing Michael, THANK YOU for such a great program

Re: New Fog Request
@Okwa Your fleet attack is awesome, well done on the layout, it's convincing and for your Atlantis, it's very beautiful with the fog, they all look perfect, again well done
@Alienizer That's really impressive, well done
@Support I had to download the latest and try it. I didn't load a model, it's just Raylectron stand-alone and turned on the Sun, Sky, Clouds, Birds, Planets, Ocean and Fog. That's the result. I'm impressed big time, like Okwa said, you're a genius

Re: New Fog Request
@Alienizer Many Thanks. Oh man, your image reminds me of 60s/70s scary/horror movies. It really gives me goose bumps.
@TaylorBaird Many Thanks. Wonderful picture. This is really great. The moon in particular looks epic.
@Support Oh, if you need more work, let's talk about shining and reflection again. But first I want to render an image as an example.
I wanted to re-render my images of interior views of my spaceships (engineering department/infirmary etc). But I'm really struggling to give the textures some shininess/reflection without making them completely overly shiny/reflective. But as I said, I want to render a sample image first so you can see what I mean. I'll try to create it today, just don't know when. It's a bit chaotic in my neighborhood right now.

Re: New Fog Request
@Okwa @Alienizer @TaylorBaird
All are beautiful renders. Makes me happy that you all like it and thank you for posting them
I've reworked the entire system, and now all options are available. Here's how it works:
Start/End: These parameters define the distance from the camera at which the fog starts and ends. The fog will feather between these points. The closer the "End" is to "Start," the less feathered the fog will appear.
Density: This controls the fog's density, just like before.
Contrast: Similar to an image editor, this setting highlights bright areas and dims the rest. A lower contrast value makes the fog look more like a haze, while a higher value creates the appearance of fog patches. It's best used in combination with Density.
Horizontal: This stretches the fog pattern horizontally. A lower value results in more pattern and smaller patches, while a higher value creates fewer patterns and larger patches.
Vertical: This works like Horizontal but applies the effect vertically. Setting this value to its minimum will cause the fog pattern to rise, resembling smoke coming from the ground.
Height: Defines the height at which the fog ends, measured from the ground.
Color: Not only does this change the color of the fog, but darker colors also reduce its density, similar to the Density setting.
Auto-Set: This option sets the Start/End parameters automatically. However, this feature is still in development, so it's best not to rely on it just yet.

WOW All of your renders are absolutely amazing
So I got curious and downloaded the latest, took me just a few minutes to setup the sky, fog and ocean (the lake). This new version of Raylectron really is surpassing its low cost for a lifetime license!!! Congrat Michael for this amazing render
